Current Openings

  • Thunderbolt is currently seeking licensed AZ & DZ drivers to fill various positions within our team this spring! These positions may include tri-axle, tandem, sweeper, float and more. Drivers are tasked with servicing commercial and residential projects by delivering and/or removing material and equipment. This may include servicing multiple sites per day according to one’s assigned routes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Deliver materials and equipment to and from job sites.

    • Performs pre-trip & post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.

    • Plan routes and ensure timely delivery of goods.

    • Performs all duties as instructed and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

    • Operate vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and regulations.

    • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.

    • Maintain accurate driver records.

    Requirements:

    • At least 3 years’ experience.

    • Valid driver's license.

    • Clean CVOR and personal abstract.

    • Willingness to work long shifts.

    • Knowledgeable of Ottawa and the surrounding area.

    • Excellent time management and communication skills.

  • We are seeking a highly capable Street Sweeper Operator to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our street network. The successful candidate would be required to work primarily during the hours of 1:00pm to 11:00pm. Winter work also available.

    Responsibilities:

    • Drive and operate street sweeper to various sites around the city.

    • Fill the street sweeper's water tanks and operating rotary brushes and water spray controls.

    • Exercise caution when operating in confined spaces and congested streets.

    • Securely fasten vehicle attachments such as brush hogs and hydraulic hoses.

    • Maintain accurate street sweeper logs and perform standard circle checks.

    • Report any incidents or mechanical failures to management.

    • Maintain professional company image.

    • Operate vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and regulations.

    Requirements:

    • Valid G or DZ license and clean driver's abstract.

    • Proven experience safely operating a commercial vehicle.

  • During the spring, summer and fall seasons we provide full grounds maintenance including lawn care services, flower and tree planting, aerating and de-thatching, leaf removal and various other types of maintenance including full lawn and garden care programs for fertilizing and weed and insect control. Positions for winter employment following the summer season are also available.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain flower beds including pruning, edging, and weeding to promote healthy plant growth.

    • Installation of soil, flowers, shrubs, mulch, etc.

    • Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, and hand lifting/carrying.

    Requirements:

    • Previous garden maintenance experience and/or knowledge of plant material considered an asset.

  • Thunderbolt Contracting is currently seeking a licensed 310T mechanic to assist in repairing and maintaining our diverse fleet of heavy trucks and equipment.     Responsibilities:

    • Perform scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs etc. on all vehicles and equipment.

    • Diagnose, repair and service, braking systems, suspension systems, air systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, cab HVAC, steering components, drivelines, and more.

    • Perform Ministry of Transportation vehicle inspections as per Ministry guidelines.

    • Complete all necessary paperwork as required for repairs and inspections completed.

    • Other duties as required.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years experience as licensed mechanic preferred.

    • Valid G driver's license.

    • In-depth knowledge of heavy trucks/equipment.

    • Possess own set of mechanic's basic tools.

    • Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures.

  • We are currently looking for experienced Lead Hand to assist our landscape foremen on our ever-expanding portfolio of commercial and residential projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the installation of interlock, sod, soil, trees, shrubs, plants, etc.

    • Construct walkways, patios, retaining walls, etc.

    • Operate equipment including tampers, diesel plates, quick cuts, skid steer, mini-ex etc.

    • Read plans and set grades.

    • Assist in completing and submitting paperwork related to any jobs, maintain written time records and work orders.

    • Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship, and polite communication.

    • Follow health & safety regulations of our profession.

    Requirements:

    • At minimum of 3 years’ landscape experience.

    • A comprehensive knowledge of health & safety regulations for our profession.

    • A valid G driver’s license with clean driving record to operate company vehicles.

    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools and equipment after use.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience in landscape construction preferred but not required.

    • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping is advantageous.

If you meet all of the requirements, our recruiter will conduct a phone screening with you, followed by an in-person interview with the hiring manager.

3. Onboarding

The successful candidate will be notified within 1 week of their interview date. At this time, the candidate will complete all onboarding requirements including mandatory health and safety training.

4. Welcome

On your first day, you will receive an orientation of the workplace and your safety uniform kit.
